ASCUTNEY, VT
Ann L. Lavigne, 83, a longtime resident of Ascutney, passed away Wednesday morning, December 27 at the Cedar Hill Health Care Center in Windsor.
She was born August 5, 1934 in Proctor, VT the daughter of Herbert and Gladys (Mohan) Curtis. She received her schooling in Proctor and graduated from Proctor High School in 1952. She later attended Becker Junior College in Worcester, MA. She married Stanton L. Lavigne in Proctor on December 29, 1956. Ann greatly enjoyed raising her family and was employed at the Weathersfield Elementary School as a cook, where she truly enjoyed spending time with the children. She retired at the age of 76 after serving thirty three years.
Her husband passed away in 1978. She was also predeceased by her parents, one son, Henry Peter Lavigne, two brothers, Herbert Curtis, Jr. and Bruce Curtis, and by three sisters, Mary Laricos, Margaret Curtis and Barbara Thompson.
Survivors include three daughters, Jacqueline Sargent and her husband, Robert of Springfield, VT, Mary Olson and her husband, Rick of Scottsdale, AZ and Sue Compo and her husband, Rob of Ascutney, VT, three grandchildren, Jerome Ward, Josh Compo and Travis Compo, three sisters, Jane Moscatiello of Rutland, VT, Connie Curtis of Denver, CO and Cathy Curtis of Boston, MA, and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the spring at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor. Committal services will be held in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Bristol, VT.
