Obituary

White River Jct. – Ann Mary Green, 61, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's on June 18, 2022.

She was born on January 28, 1961, in Lebanon, New Hampshire. Daughter of Clifford "Mickey" Griswold and Hazel "Dolly" Wilcox, Ann graduated from Lebanon High School in 1979 where she played softball. Ann worked for many years at Timken Aerospace, formerly Splitball Bearing, and ended her professional career as the business owner of a successful cleaning company.

Throughout her life, Ann surrounded herself with family, friends, and her tight group of "sisters." She was an amazing cook and dreamed of opening her own restaurant – food was her love language. Her family has yet to taste better lasagna, baked beans, stuffed shells, and sweet and sour meatballs!

As hard as Ann worked in life, she played even harder. She loved to play poker, shoot horseshoes, drink ice cold Michelob Light, and enjoyed a Salem Light or two. During a game of poker, Ann affectionately referred to her opponents as "cock knockers" and "pecker heads." Always "up with it" and up for anything, Ann enjoyed snowmobiling, tubing, watching her dad icefish out on the lake, camping, karaoke, and a good fried green tomato. She owned 15 Jeeps throughout her lifetime and would have loved to own a Jeep truck, for sure!

She is predeceased by her father "Mickey" Griswold, and brother Steve Griswold.

Ann's greatest joy in life were her daughters and their children – she loved her grandkids immensely. She leaves behind her best friend and husband, Max Green, after nearly 26 years of marriage filled with love and laughter, her daughter Heather "Feather" Ann Tufts of Claremont, NH, and her bonus children – Jessie Lynn Giffin of Wilder, VT and Jamie Lee Green of Claremont, NH, to whom she was a devoted Mom by choice. She leaves behind her grandchildren – Cody Maxwell, Dominic Brian, Lilianna Star, and Emily Renee. Only in death could they have been taken from her. She is survived by her mother, Dolly Griswold, her sister Tina, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held July 9th at Plainfield Village Cemetery in Plainfield, NH at 1 o'clock pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) or Visiting Nurse and Hospice for Vermont and New Hampshire (www.vnhcare.org). A heartfelt thanks to her Earth Angels, her hospice team – Mary Ellen, Kat, Monique, and Anna – and to Knight Funeral Home for their compassion, respect, and professionalism.

"How lucky you are to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."

Condolences may be made to her family at an online guestbook at www.knightfuneralhomes.com .  The Knight Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with arrangements.
