Quechee, VT – Ann E. Collins, 84, died Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at home, surrounded by her family.

Ann was born December 20, 1936 in Lebanon, NH a daughter of Max and Myrtle (Goss) Church.  She grew up in Quechee where she attended grammar school before graduating from Hartford High School in 1956.  Ann married Russell Collins July 18, 1959 and they lived in Montana while he served in the Air Force.  After his discharge they returned to Quechee and made their home at his family's homestead where they raised their children and have lived since.

Ann worked for a time at Brooksie's Diner in Sharon and later as a nursing assistant at Brookside Nursing Home in White River Junction.  After her children were older, she returned to work at various daycare providers.

Ann enjoyed square dancing with her husband as a member of the Junction Trotters in White River Jct. and the Sugar House Swingers in Woodstock and traveling in their camper with the Mid-State Sam club.  She was also a former member of the Quechee Community Church, and a member of the Greater Hartford United Church of Christ, the Grange in Hartford and an active volunteer in her community including at the Quechee Elementary Right to Read Program, the Upper Valley Haven and serving as secretary of the Quechee Cemetery Assn for many years and at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in White River Junction.

She was predeceased by her brother Charles Brown and sister Esther Beckett.

Ann leaves her husband, Russell; daughter, Juanita Paynter and son, Lannie Collins all of Quechee; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a Cousin Margaret Goss and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction 4pm -6pm, Saturday, June 26. A funeral service will be held Sunday at Greater Hartford United Church of Christ at 3pm, burial will be in the Hilltop Cemetery in Quechee.
