Ann Louise Barringer, 76, died Sunday, December 7, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 14, 1938 in Salem, MA the daughter of Raymond Adam and Elsie (Sweet) Beals. She graduated from Salem High School in Salem. She was married to Donald Cronin March 4, 1956, they were later divorced. She went to work as a nurse's aide and spent many years at the Hancock Nursing Home in Beverly, MA and later at the Hunt Nursing Home in Danvers, MA. She was married to Cleophas A. "Kip" Barringer on May 10, 1981. Upon their retirement in 2000 they moved to Vermont to be closer to her daughter Elizabeth.
Ann was the past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Spear Post 331 in Beverly, MA, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Fidelity Post 1011, Peabody, MA where she was better known as "Combat Annie".
Ann loved collecting salt and pepper shakers and has a collection of over a thousand sets, collected over a period of sixty years. It was said that if you went on a trip that you where expected to return with something for her in the form of a salt and pepper shaker. She also enjoyed working puzzles and spending time with family.
She is predeceased by her brother David Beals.
She is survived by her loving husband Kip of Sharon; Sons David Cronin, Daniel Cronin both of Lynn, MA and Donald Cronin of Beverly, MA; daughters Donna Pelkey of Sharon, VT, Elizabeth Casieri of Eustis, ME and Katherine Cronin of Micaville, NC brother Raymond Beals of Beverly, MA; sisters Charlotte Beals and Barbara Beals both of North Port, FL, Mary Chaput of Venice, FL, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction assisted with arrangements. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
