Piermont, NH – Andrew "Andy" Stevenson Boright, 54, died unexpectedly Wednesday Feb. 15, 2017 in Norton, VT while doing what he loved most-- snowmobiling. He was born February 12, 1963 in Newport, VT the son of Malcolm and Armande C. (Robillard) Boright.
He grew up in Newport, VT and moved to Wilder in 4th grade. He graduated from Hartford High School in 1981 and studied at Vermont Technical College. Andy was a kind, honest man with simple pleasures. He had a passion for car racing, which he was very vocal (and sometimes outspoken!) about. He even owned and drove his own racecar on the NH and VT circuit for a time. In the last few years he loved traveling around the eastern seaboard attending races. Andy's greatest joy was snowmobiling. He loved winter and couldn't wait for the snow to fall so that he and his family members could go out exploring on the VAST trail system where they enjoyed many trail dinners and poker runs.
Andy was an extremely hard worker, sometimes working two and three jobs at a time. In the last few years he worked for Cabot Creamery, before that he was employed for 13 years with Tele Atlas (later called GDT and then TomTom) doing mapping. One of his favorite aspects of this job was when he got to map the snowmobiling trails in NH & VT.
He was predeceased by his father who died March 18, 2016.
Andy is survived by his mother, Armande C. Boright of Wilder, VT, Three brothers, Barry Stevenson Boright (Stephanie) of Lewes, DE, Charles "Chuck" Boright (Arlene) of Alpine, CA, Clarence Albert Boright of Burlington, VT, a sister, Wendy Boright of Bellows Falls, VT. He also leaves behind two nieces Sydney of Lewes, DE and Gabrielle of Alpine, CA.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, February 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony's Church in White River Jct., VT. Burial will be held at a later date in Newport, VT.
