Obituary

Alice Jeanine Jordan passed away on September 4, 2011 at the Mount Ascutney Hospital after a 14 month battle with gastric cancer. She was born in Boise, ID the daughter of Mary Isabel (Waters) Williams and Claude Elbert Willliams. In the late 1930's, Alice and her mother moved to Windsor, VT, where her mother re-married giving Alice several brothers and sisters. Alice was a member of the Windsor High School class of 1951. In January of 1952, Alice married Otis W. Jordan Jr. (Bill) and moved to the Jordan farm in Plainfield. For almost 60 years she immersed herself in her family and her new hometown. She gave birth to three children; Robert, Donald and Deborah, and raised them as a true New Hampshire farm wife. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Meriden and the Blow-Me-Down- Grange. She enjoyed many of the social organizations in town, and was involved in the Bird Club, Historical Society, Plainfield Library, and in days gone by, the Mothers and Daughters Club. She was also a longtime 4-H Club leader.

Alice was predeceased by her husband Bill, who passed away in 2006. She was also predeceased by her young brother Bobby, as well as her brothers Wallace and John Tucker and a sister, Shirley Mae. She is survived by her three children, six grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, her sisters Alice Barnes of West Lebanon, NH, Mary McConnell of Pembroke, ME, and her brother Ed Tucker of West Berlin, VT, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service and reception will be held at the First Baptist Church of Meriden on September 11 at 3:00PM. Pastor Harold Jones will preside. The Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT assisted with arrangements.
