Obituary

White River Jct., VT- Alfred W. “Punk” Clark, 81, died at his home on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, surrounded by his family after a short battle with cancer.

Alfred was born in Altona, NY on August 20, 1944, to Byron Clark and Alice (Mugatroyd) Ross. He married Janet Moulton on February 29, 1964 — a very cost-conscious move, as he only had to celebrate his anniversary every leap year. In 1974, they moved to Florida to pursue chicken farming before eventually settling back in the Upper Valley.

Over the years, Alfred worked many jobs to support his family. He made combat boots for American troops, worked at Dorr Woolen Mill in Newport, and later at Durgin and Crowell Lumber Company. Alfred worked hard in life, and was known as a true jack of all trades.

Alfred was an outside man. He enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, was fond of dove hunting in Florida, and treasured a memorable trip to Maine to hunt red stag. He also loved fishing, whether taking his grandchildren fishing locally or enjoying deep-sea fishing trips. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janet Clark, his daughters, Jennifer Robinson (Dale) and Amanda Morehouse (Chad), grandchildren, Ashley Radicioni (Wally), Megan Bator (Gary), Christopher Woods, Kevin Clark, DJ Robinson, and Jordan Robinson; great grandchildren, Oaklynn, Bella, Kyle, Parker, Walter, Braydan, Wyatt, Sawyer, Sebastian, and Gracelynn. He is also survived by a sister, Fonda Brown and her husband, Steve of Weathersfield.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Jennifer’s home in Sharon, VT at 12pm on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

Knight Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed in an online guestbook found at www.knightfuneralhomes.com
