West Lebanon, NH – Alfonzo Orizzonto, 94, died Thursday afternoon, October 17, 2019 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH with his family by his side.

He was born March 4, 1925 one of eleven children of Luigi and Juliette (DeLauri) Orizzonto. Alfonzo graduated from Hartford High School in 1943. He married Helen Shea June 23, 1951. Alfonzo started his long career with the Boston and Maine Railroad while still in high school retiring as the Ticket Master after forty years of service to the company. Alfonzo and Helen made their home in West Lebanon, NH until Helen's death in 2017. He was a life long member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in White River Junction and active in his community.

Fonzo is lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews for his great Italian cooking, his beautiful gardens and flowers, and his wonderful hospitality. Family was very important to Fonzo and he treasured his time with them. Fonzo was very friendly and outgoing and didn't know a stranger. He loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed traveling in his retirement. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Vermont. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Alfonzo was predeceased by his parents, his wife Helen,  brothers, Joseph, Louis, John, Anthony, Michael and his sisters, Mary, Rose Mary, Assunta, Johanna, and Josephine, and three nephews.

He is survived by eleven nieces, five nephews and numerous great nephews and great nieces.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday October 23rd from 2-4 PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday October 24 ^th at noon at St. Anthony Church in White River Jct.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in White River Jct., to be followed by a reception hosted by the Knights of Columbus at the St. Anthony Church Hall.
