WINDSOR, VT
Alberta S. "Tillie" Dickinson, 87, a resident of Windsor and formerly of Brandon, VT, passed away Thursday evening, May 26, at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor.
She was born June 27, 1923 in Sudbury, Vermont the daughter of Claude and Rita (Tupper) Denton. She received her schooling in Brandon. She was employed at General Electric in Fort Edwards, NY, and later worked as a waitress at Ladukes Restaurant in Brandon. She married Howard M. Dickinson in Brandon on August 15, 1953. They resided in Kennebunkport, Maine and Delray Beach, Florida, where Mr. Dickinson worked as a chef for the Colony Hotel for many years. They moved to Windsor in 2008 to be closer to their daughter, Debra Langhans. She has resided at the Davis Home in Windsor for the past two years where she received excellent care.
Tillie was known to be a great dancer and had won several dancing contests with her brother, Almer Denton. She loved to play cribbage. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed travelling with her husband.
She was predeceased by one son, Douglas Dickinson in 1997, and by her two brothers, Almer Denton and Allen Denton.
Survivors include her husband, Howard M. Dickinson of Windsor, one daughter, Debra E. Langhans and her husband, Reg of Windsor, two grandsons, Michael Langhans and Reggie Langhans, both of Windsor, one daughter-in-law, Kathleen Dickinson of Mooers Forks, NY, several nieces and nephews.
At her request there will be no formal funeral service. Private services will be held at the convenience of her family at a later date.
