IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Albert D.
Hamilton
September 19, 1936 – May 26, 2021
Lebanon, New Hampshire - Albert D. Hamilton, Sr., beloved husband, father, and friend passed away on Wednesday May 26, 2021.
Albert was born on September 19, 1936, in Lebanon, NH, the son of Joseph S. Hamilton and Doris (Lahar) Hamilton. He grew up in White River Junction, VT with his sister Marion, and graduated from Hartford High School in 1955, joining the Air Force shortly thereafter.
Albert "Al" married his wife Catherine (Putnam) in West Lebanon, NH, on February 16, 1957. They raised their four children, Carroll, Mark, Albert, Jr., and Tina as they were stationed throughout the United States during Al's 20-year career in the Air Force.
Al was a career military man whose loyalty and dedication was made apparent through the recognition and commendations he received throughout his career. After 20 years in the Air Force, Al retired from the military in 1975 and continued the next 20 years working with the VA hospital in White River Junction, VT, retiring again in 1996. Being the consummate putterer and loving to be busy, Al took up a position with Fogg's Ace Hardware part time. He finally made the move to act on his dream to go south and be a snowbird in Florida, and so in 2003 began the seasonal migration. He enjoyed the warm weather, beautiful sunshine, golfing, friends & family.
Al is survived by his four children, Carroll (Joyce) of Pennsylvania, Mark (Nicole) of New Hampshire, Albert, Jr. (Debra) of Michigan, and Tina (K. Jeffrey) of Minnesota; six grandchildren Christopher, Jonathan, Matthew (Carroll), Karley, and Lexie (Albert, Jr.), and Elizabeth (Tina); three great grandchildren Chandler and Alexander (Jonathan), and Kennedy (Matthew); current wife Ann (Pallmerine), her daughters Sandy Allard and Susan Gibbs; and several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, first wife Catherine "Kay", and his sister Marion McFolin.
Family and friends are invited to Albert's Calling Hours at Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction on Sunday, June 6, 2021, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in White River Junction, VT.
