Albert L. Bandy, 91, a longtime resident of Windsor, passed away Saturday evening, December 30, 2017 at the Cedar Hill Health Care Center in Windsor.
He was born June 21, 1926 in Windsor the son of Lester H. and Bernice (Crandall) Bandy. He received his schooling in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School. Mr. Bandy was a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II. He married Ellen B. Favreau. They enjoyed a very happy life in their "Old School House Home" on County Road in Windsor.
Albert worked as a farmer for most of his life and in later years as a machinist at the former Cone Blanchard Machine Tool Company in Windsor. He had a great love for animals.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ellen B. Bandy, one son, Tracy A. Bandy, and one brother, Henry J. Bandy.
Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Shaughnessy and her husband, Edward, of New Milford, CT, two grandchildren, John Muehlfeld and Erin Shaughnessy, also of New Milford, one brother, Duane Bandy of Windsor, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held in the spring in the family lot in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor.
The Knight Funeral Home in Windsor is entrusted with the arrangements.
