Sharon, Vermont- Alan W. "Butch" Loring, 55, died at his home Tuesday, February 15, 2011. He was born January 19, 1956 in Sussex, NJ the son of Fred and Marie (Smith) Loring.

Al worked for a time as a driver for Berwick and Sons and Pike Industries. In 1988 he started his own Business that he loved very much, Al's Towing serving the Upper Connecticut River Valley. He enjoyed getting to know people and the challenges of towing and recovery. He did this for twenty years before having to give up the business due to his failing health.

Al loved to watch television he enjoyed watching NASCAR and football, but he especially loved to have his grandchildren over at night to play X-Box 360 with them. Al was a very social person he enjoyed talking on the phone to stay in contact with whom he was close. He will be missed.

Al is survived by his companion of over 30 years Sharon Aldrich of Sharon; a son Alan Aldrich and wife Chanda of Bethel, VT three grandchildren Amber, Aliza, and Alan Jr. "AJ"; mother Marie Loring of Bangor, ME; eight sisters, Amy Taylor of Hollis Center, ME, Linda McPhee of Innwood, WV, Kathy Moran of Milford, ME, Ellen Moore of Martinsburg, WV, Theresa White of Orono, ME, Jeannie Perkins of Innwood, WV Trudy Koxarakis and Tracey Shorey both of Old Town, ME; a stepbrother John Dodd of Newton, NJ and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Saturday February 19, 2011 at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT from 6-9PM. A grave side service will be held in the Hartford Cemetery at a later Date.
