Windsor, VT – Nancy Ann McHugh, 56, died Thursday May 16, 2013 at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital & Health Center in Windsor, VT.

She was born October 28, 1956 in Revere, MA a daughter of David R. and Barbara (Young) Bevan. Nancy spent her youth in Danvers, MA, where she graduated from Danvers High School in 1974. She then graduated from Westfield State College in 1978, where she earned her teaching degree. On July 14, 1984 she was married to Joseph B. McHugh in Pepperell, MA. They moved to the Windsor area in 1990 where Nancy worked as a substitute teacher in Hartland and Windsor for many years. She then worked at the Hartland General Store & Fleming’s Texaco in Windsor. Most recently she worked at BG’s Market in Hartland until she became too ill to work.

Nancy was an avid Boston sports fan who enjoyed watching the Patriots and Bruins but most of all the Red Sox. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, but more than anything enjoyed time with her family, especially her children and their friends.

She was a member of the American Legion Post 25 Auxiliary as well as the Windsor B.P.O.Elks Lodge 1665.

Nancy was predeceased by her father and is survived by her husband, Joe of Windsor, her mother, Barbara of Danvers, MA, a daughter Sherrie McHugh of Windsor, two sons Thomas D. McHugh and Joseph B. McHugh Jr. both of Windsor; two sisters Denise Sarro and Dottie McBournie and two brothers David R. Bevan Jr. and Scott Bevan all of Danvers, MA as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor, VT on Tuesday May 21st from 6-8PM. A funeral service will be held at the Rachel S. Harlow Church in Windsor on Wednesday May 22nd at 11AM with burial following in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor.
