Janice O. Durphey
(April 16, 1939 - April 27, 2011)

HARTLAND, VT Janice O. Durphey, 72, a resident of Hartland, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 27, at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor. She was born April 16, 1939 in Barre, VT the daughter of Curtis and Dorothy (Papineau) Orr. She received her schooling in Plainfield, VT and graduated from Plainfield High School in 1957. She married Gordon Parker in Hartford, VT on August 4, 1957. He passed away on January 8, 1969. She married Raymond C. Durphey in Hartland on May 8, 1971. Janice was a member of the Hartland Congregational Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends at the family camp in Bridgewater. She loved to cook and enjoyed snowmobiling. Her greatest joy in life was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and one sister, Brenda Wright in 2011. Survivors include her husband, Raymond C. Durphey of Hartland, three sons, Dana G. Parker and his wife, Candy, of Hartland, Brian S. Parker and his wife, Pip, of Hartland, and Scott A. Durphey of Hartland, one daughter, Bonnie Parker-Fernandes and her husband, Stub, of Quechee, seven grandchildren, Wendy Parker, Shannon Toth, Bobbi-Jo Day, Corin Breuer, Carrie Parker, Jamie-Lee Fernandes and Daniel G. Fernandes, nine great grandchildren, two brothers, William Orr of Barre and Ronald Orr of Arizona, one sister, Dianna Wilde of Barre, several nieces and nephews. At her request there will be no formal funeral service. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. The Knight Funeral Home in Windsor assisted with the arrangements.
